We present seven species of parrots that are on the verge of extinction in nature, but at the same time are numerous in breeding facilities and are popular companion birds:

1:54 Sun conure (Aratingasolstitialis)
2:39 Yellow-naped amazon (Amazona auropalliata)
4:10 Blue-throated macaw (Ara glaucogularis)
5:10 Ecuadorian red-lored amazon (Amazona lilacina)
7:10 Lesser Sulphur-crested cockatoo (Cacatua sulphurea)
8:04 Umbrella Cockatoo (Cacatua alba)
8:42 Swift parrot (Lathamus tricolor)

You will probably think that this is no tragedy, because if we have so many of them in aviculture, we can relocate them to the wild. But this is usually impossible. And why? – we’ll explain in the next video.
