Three pro-animal organisations have convinced the European Parliament of the idea of introducing a so-called positive pet list. If your parrots are not on it, you will not be able to breed or sell them. Pairs will have to be kept separate.
We explain what a positive list is and present the arguments for and against it.
Accompanying the presenter, a Harlequin macaw baby from the Parrot Shop (PAPUGI.com.pl/en) in Warsaw, nods in agreement, although it is unaware that its future is about to be decided in Brussels.
