The Line Dividing Two Animal Worlds

Why don’t cockatoos and kangaroos live in Asia? And why don’t elephants or tigers live in Australia? We sail along the so-called Wallace line demarcating two separate worlds of fauna and flora, being sometimes even within sight. Elephants, monkeys, tigers and rhinos live on one side of this line, and kangaroos, cassowaries and parrots such as cockatoos, lories and lorikeets live on the other. We show them and explain why it happened and what else could have happened if the fate of the Earth had turned a bit differently.
